Samsung PDA Phone: Samsung BlackJack SGH-i607

At the day of it’s launched, the BlackJack Samsung PDA Phone was claimed to be the "thinnest QWERTY device in the world". BlackJack dimension are 4.4 x 2.3 x 0.6 inches and 3.5 ounces weight. It looked sexy in all-black casing. The Samsung PDA Phone is easy to grip and comes with soft-touch finish. With its slim design, the Samsung PDA Phone feels very like a mobile phone, yet it’s still comfortable to hold.

The Samsung PDA Phone 2.25 inches display is not a touch screen. Yet, with 320x320 pixel resolution and 65,000-color output, text look very sharp, bright colors, images and video look great. The Samsung PDA Phone has two soft keys controls, a four-way directional toggle, Talk and End keys, a back button, and a shortcut to the Today screen. On the upper-right spine you’ll find a MicroSD expansion slot protected by an attached cover. On the right spine, sits a Back button a thumbwheel that can be used to select item. With these controls, you can easily operate the Samsung PDA Phone with one hand.

One of the advantages of this Samsung PDA Phone is full QWERTY keyboard. Placed at the front side, the keyboard is good and fairly easy to use. The number keys are highlighted in gray colors, so it’s easy to identify them in the middle of black keys. On the back side, sits a 1.3-megapixel camera with video, equipped with a self-portrait mirror. On the left side sits a power / headset adapter jack and a volume control.

For data transfer, this Samsung PDA Phone comes with high speed UMTS/HSPDA 3.5G connectivity. Powered by Windows Mobile Smartphone Edition with 128MB ROM and 64MB RAM, the BlackJack includes Picsel Viewer Suite application that can be used to view and open standard Microsoft documents such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word documents. This application is also able to view PDF documents. Windows Media Player 10 Mobile is available to play your personal library. The BlackJack also supports email push technology and instant messaging. Another standard features are also available including Notes, Contacts, Tasks, Calendar, Unit Converter, World Clock, Stopwatch, Calculator and Voice Recorder.

For phone services, this Samsung PDA Phone powered by a quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900. With built-in Bluetooth 2.0, BlackJack can use wireless headset. The 1.3 megapixel camera produces a good quality pictures. It comes with various modes such as self timer, 2x digital zoom, white balance setting, quality setting, etc. With resolutions up to 1.280 x 960 pixel, this Samsung PDA Phone can take video recording too. The Samsung PDA Phone rechargeable battery can stand up to 11 days of standby time and 5.5 hours of talk time.
