Diamond2 comes with sleek-looking design with four subtle buttons on the front. At the bottom of its screen, lies a touch-sensitive zoom control. One of the problems of having the resistive screen is the lack of multitouch, and a touch-sensitive zoom control is been there to intellegently solve the problem.

HTC's TouchFLO user interface offers more finger-friendly shortcuts to the important features than the standard Windows Mobile home screen. The TouchFLO sliding menu gives you the fun experience by horizontally dragging your finger along a series of customizable icons that will lead you to TouchFLO application.

This latest PDA resistive touchscreen response best when you use the stylus that hidden in the side of handheld. But it’s still possible to use your fingernail or fingertip to make it respond with exerts pressure. The TouchFLO interface truly has made Windows Mobile more user-friendly. Unfortunately, coupled with the resistive touchscreen, the device becomes not a finger-friendly. And underneath the interface, it’s still Windows Mobile platform.

Good news for heavy texter, this latest PDA offers a good typing experience with plenty of text-entry features such as quick gestures for copy / paste, QWERTY, handwriting recognition, alphanumeric virtual keyboard, etc. The responsive keyboard makes sure there won't be a drop letter although you perform a fast typing. The accurate and fast predictive text feature help you correct words when you missed any keys.

Diamond2 comes with both HSDPA and Wi-Fi wireless connectivity. The high speed connection combined with Opera Browser and YouTube application will make your browsing experience become fun and enjoyable.

The HTC Diamond2 also equipped with GPS and Bluetooth connectivity. The GPS receiver works well with built-in Google Maps. If Google Maps doesn’t satisfy you, you can install one of the hundreds of Windows Mobile map software that suites you.

The latest PDA also comes with 5-megapixel camera with user-friendly stitching feature. Although there is no flash light, the features produce a good quality picture under a good light. The picture is still sharp, and the device found no trouble when taking the occasional snapshot. The device can capture video recording quite sharp.

The Good:

• Lovely screen
• Appealing-looking TouchFLO home screen
• Responsive soft keyboard
• Elegant Opera Web browser
• Great YouTube access

The Bad:

• Unintuitive
• Resistive touchscreen craves a stylus
• No flashlight
• Dated user interface

Conclusion

The latest PDA HTC Touch Diamond2 comes with plenty of features, including a subtle-looking big, beautiful screen and great internet-browsing capability with speedy connectivity. The TouchFLO interface has been designed to patch the Windows Mobile’s usability flaws. But unfortunately the HTC's best effort still can’t quite disguise the usability problems of Windows Mobile. Specifically with a resistive touchscreen, we still need a sharp fingernails or a stylus to get the most out of this latest PDA.
But if this thing doesn’t bother you, the latest PDA Diamond2 would be for you.
